KAWS FAMILY at SFMOMA

Ever since I’ve been following KAWS’ work since 2007, I don’t remember him having a show in San Francisco. The last time I’ve been to his show was in 2014 in Los Angeles, so it’s been awhile. So it was pleasure to know that he’s doing it S.F. and I could take the time off to checkout the exhibition. Once I found out about the show I became member get a chance to see his show early before it opened to the public.

I was able to get chance to see him on this way out that morning of the first day of the member preview.

I’ve always enjoyed the presence of the sculputses and the pop bright of color in his paintings, clean lines and all. Chum and accomplice is classic. Companion in SPACE is bling. And the brown companions, separated and seated showing a sense of calm and reflection.

I took my boys there. My older one wanted to “practice drawing”, where I outlined the character and he filled in the memorable motiff’s like the X’s for the eyes.
